Janitor of War
This picture was created for a sci-fi image contest at www.hash.com. It took about a week of work. The main focus with this project was to create believable high resolution textures. Here is a very high resolution version of Janitor of War which let's you see just how detailed the textures are.
GER
A "ger" is the circular tent traditionally lived in by Mongolians. Having grown up in Outer Mongolia this was an attempt to capture some of the feel of the landscape without, obviously, being too literal.
Standing under the rain
This picture was an exercise in trying to capture the feel of a raindrop impacting on pavement. All the splashes that you see hitting the ground were hand placed. A base spash model was used and then tweaked to keep it from looking tiled.
Bud!
The bud was made to try and duplicate the organic, soft, translucent feel of flower petals. It ended up being a little more sureal than originally intended, but the organic feel is still present.
